I have sailed all my life and am a qualified yacht master and experienced instructor. At various times I have been a keen dinghy sailor (10 years) Keen offshore racing skipper (15 years) and keen cruising yachtsman (40 years). I have 50,000 sea miles, approximately half as skipper, but mostly in a coastal environment. I managed a successful cruising syndicate (Moody 39, 5 owners) in the Eastern Med for over 10 years. I love long distance sailing, am regarded as relaxed and laid back (but firm and directive when necessary), and am a good cook. My greatest strength is probably my ability to "fit in" and make a major contribution to an harmonious crew. Engines are not my strong point but I am competent at most other Boat maintenance duties. I would be regarded as very strong on planning, victualling, and logistical management of complex voyages. I want to spend 2-3 years crewing before embarking on my own Blue Water extended circumnavigation. | |
