| Hi, I'm Jess. I'm on adventure, which has so far included leaving my job as a Social Worker in the UK to sail cross the Pacific Ocean, living out of a tent in New Zealand for 5 months, and working in Cyprus for 5 months. I currently find myself in Malta, but I want to leave and be in the great blue again. My goal at the moment is to sail the Atlantic, east to west, in the upcoming season. It would also be great if I could sail from the Mediterranean to the Canary Islands for this, but this would just be an added bonus for me so I don't have to fly and can start brushing up my skills. I'm terms of experience, I have spent the last 10 months off the water becoming a bit rusty, however I have experience of night watches, helming (no autopilot), sail changes and trimming, reading weather forecasts, tying knots, cooking, cleaning and contributing fully to daily life onboard. I understand and feel very comfortable with the adjustment it takes to live on a boat and be at sea without seeing land for several weeks, and I love it! | |
