| I have been sailing about eight years in the San Francisco bay and chartered in the BVI, SVI, San Juan Islands, Newport, Croatia, Greek Cyclades and Tahiti (total about 170 days / 3300 nm as skipper) and done two offshore trips as crew. I am very healthy, take no medications. and a lifetime of cycling, windsurfing, skiing and weightlifting have left me in very good physical shape. I recently retired as a staff scientist at an accelerator physics lab and in a few years when my son starts college I am planning on buying a bluewater cruiser and potentially sail it around the world. I’m looking to gain experience on ocean and coastal passages and confirm that a cruising lifestyle is something I would enjoy. | |
