Obtained ASA Bareboat in 1997. Have done numerous bareboat trips as skipper from Miami to Exumas and Andros Bahamas since. Now it is time to buy my own boat, so I'm looking to gain sea miles, and experience on different boats before I make a purchase decision. I never kept a sailing log book, but can document 180 days on the water via my passport stamps. Recently sold family well drilling and pump service business. Now have time to travel without concerns related to days required. My professional life allowed me to become skilled in: AC/DC electrical circuits, diesel/equipment maintenance, welding, personnel management, SSB/VHF radio service, water treatment, and pumps. My formal education is B.S. Civil Engineering Technology, A.S. Drafting, plus worked 10 years as an Emergency Medical Technician. My related hobbies/interests are: Ham Radio (advanced class N0VHN), SCUBA diving, Volunteer well drilling mission work in Guatemala (www.h20forlife.org), and operation of family Angus cattle farm. Studying Spanish language Send me and email or call me to discuss what you have in mind. February till April is when I normally go to Rio Dulce Guatemala. I'm ready to go about anywhere...especially Central America, Caribbean, and Columbia. Search my call sign N0VHN (make sure you enter a zero, not an O) on Facebook or QRZ.com for more information. | |
