An engineering professor for the Navy. I have a PhD in Systems Engineering and teach systems engineering to Naval Officers. A certified keel boat sail instructor (also for Navy). Sailed in Long Island, NY, Miami, FL, and Monterey, CA. Mostly coastal cruising and day sailing. Longest cruise was from Liverpool, UK to Galway, Ireland. Otherwise, coastal cruises in South Florida, the Keys, and Coastal California. Currently, most of my sailing is weekly races on a Shields in Monterey Bay. Additionally, I instruct about once a month on a keel boat. Aside from sailing experience, I am a good cook and have a resourcefulness to fix many mechanical and electrical systems. I'm a good crew member, team player, and can hold a conversation. I have an unformed plan to do extensive off-shore sailing when I get a sabbatical in 2021, and my desire is to build my off-shore sailing experience in preparation. | |
