Experience: | 5000 ocean miles / 4000 coastal miles |
I’ve sailed through the Med, northern Australia, New Zealand, some Caribbean islands, some of the Pacific, a little along the NE coast of USA. Ocean passages include the 2022 ARC, and also from Vanuatu to Cairns. I got my RYA Day Skipper in 2021. I’ve actually done that course twice, once with BOSS in the Solent and once in the calm waters of Greece. You can guess which one was more fun! For all of that though, I am rusty, because I don’t sail enough. But know the basics, can do watches, keep a course, and do my fair share of boat cleaning, cooking, provisioning etc. I crossed the Atlantic as crew in the ARC in 2022. I’m 60, and keep reasonably fit with cycling, swimming, walking and some yoga. I’m Australian, currently working in Vanuatu - so crewing opportunities in the Pacific could be perfect, although happy to sail anywhere!. Im a civil engineer by background, currently working for an international entity, which means I travel a lot. | |
