I am keen to join a team as crew for the ARC 2024 from Gran Canaria to St Lucia. Setting myself a challenge and seeing an old project through. It would be my first ocean sail, but I've sailed a fair bit along and between UK coasts. I love the sea and being on a boat. I also like to learn and contribute to boat and team dynamics. My sailing over the last 25 years has mostly been in the UK (cruising in the Solent and racing in the West Coast of Scotland), regularly for several seasons, less regularly other years. Mostly on 36 foot mono-hulls. Always as crew. Applying to join in with a cruising team. Bilingual French/English, understand Spanish. Workwise, I work as a translator and interpreter, and am also currently completing a diploma in counselling. I'm in my fourties and in between professions so now is a good time to have a sabbatical and get away for a few weeks to mark the transition. I'm based in the UK. It would be great to meet the skipper and/or crew beforehand if possible, in person or online. (will write a little more later on...) | |
