Experience includes US Navy (24 yrs retired Captain); attained all watchstanding and engineering qualifications. Chief Engineering Officer on two ships. Sailed in all major oceans and Persian Gulf and Mediterranean. Sailboat experience from personal craft from hobie cats to 38’ Alajuela (presently own). Taught sailing at US Naval Academy with Atlantic Ocean trips to Bermuda and up / down east coast. On my own sailboat, Pacific Northwest to include Vancouver Island, Inner Gulf Islands offshore California, Oregon, Washington. Private pilots license. US Coast Guard Masters Certification exam passed. I am easygoing and unafraid of the challenges of being uncomfortable in the environment. Enjoy physical and mental combination of the rigors of sailing. Logical, have experience in problem solving and readily perform any tasks assigned. I expect the unexpected however I revel in those moments only this time of adventure can provide. Not easily deterred. A good shipmate. Avid cyclist to maintain fitness and participate in major tours. Own a home in Competa, Malaga, Spain where I spend time each year.
