Looking for: Worldwide opportunities
Experience: 300 ocean miles / 10000 coastal miles
I learned to sail as a child on our family's 30 ft. ketch and in dinghy sailing lessons. In my twenties I crewed on a 40 ft. sloop through the Hawaiian Islands. In my 40s I trained and became a skipper in a sailing co-op, sailing the waters around Vancouver and the Gulf Islands in B.C. In 2011 my husband and I bought a 40 ft. Wauquiez sloop 'Mahalo' in Florida and spent 6 years sailing the U.S. coast, Bahamas and the Eastern Caribbean to Trinidad then back to Antigua where we sold the boat in 2017. We now own a 36' Sceptre and sail the Gulf Islands of British Columbia where we live near Victoria, B.C. I have some formal training and credentials from Canada for radio and boat operation and navigation, and lots of experience at communications, provisioning, and watchkeeping including overnight. I am interested in crewing on a 40 ft. + sailboat, monohull or catamaran, preferably with my husband also (he has more credentials than me). We are both retired with flexible schedules, non-smokers.
