| I am a late comer to sailing. Sailed a bit as a child but didn't know what I was doing just followed instructions. 2021 I did a RYA Competent Crew course, joined a yacht club and spent every weekend April May as crew on yacht club cruises around the Solent. June I sailed on Typhoon Westerley from the UK to the Azores via the Isles of Scilly as part of a crew of 3, some fabulous bits, some scary bits, but 10 days offshore confirmed that I want to carry on sailing. I want to build up sailing skills and experience. I take satisfaction in doing a task well and don't mind hard work, being it scrubbing a deck or painting trim. I can cook, and follow orders and love learning. I am IT and accounts literate and many years ago I worked as a private chef. I enjoy the changing sea, the focus of sailing, it refreshes my soul. Bonus is nature and wild life, big open spaces, sunsets and sunrises over the sea, going to new place, meeting new people, trying new foods. | |
