I am a lifetime learner and adventurer and am looking for a sailing opportunity involving learning anything and everything I can and exploring wherever the wind takes me. My first introduction to sailing was spending a summer living solo aboard a 42-foot sailboat in Italy. I completed four ASA certifications on a 47-foot catamaran in the Virgin Islands and immediately after helped transit a 125-foot schooner from the Bahamas to North Carolina. In summer 2020 I got a job as a deckhand on a schooner and did day sails in Boston Harbor. I was also able to join as delivery crew from Boston to Albany, NY, where the schooner winters in a dry dock. In December 2020, I helped sail a 44ft ketch from the Dominican Republic through the Bahamas. In February 2021 I helped sail a Bali 4.0 from Colon to Bocas del Toro, Panama. From May to August 2021, I sailed a 34ft sloop from the Galapagos to Fiji with two other women. I shared equal responsibility onboard, including troubleshooting the engine, working the sails, navigating, doing watches, anchoring, docking, mooring, cooking, cleaning, and figuring out solutions for any other maintenance or repairs needed. I am adventurous, adaptable, and easy to get along with. I enjoy hard, purposeful work and am detail-oriented, dedicated, and a fast learner. I strive to learn about and be exposed to a little bit of everything in life to deepen my understanding of the world and relate to as many people as possible. | |
