| I am currently 61 years old and although not retired, I do have the opportunity to take time off work for extended periods. I am RYA Yachtmaster Offshore for both Power and Sail, although sailing is my passion. I have raced mono hull yachts in UK & Europe and Caribbean , skippered a 50ft Catamaran in Seychelles for 12 months as Dive Charter Boat although it would be fair to say that my skills will be rusty as I haven't done any sailing apart from Chartering a Bavaria 44 in Greece last year for two weeks since 2009. I have crossed the Atlantic twice, once as a crew member of a Farr 62 from St.Thomas to Southampton and once as crew member on a Beneteau Oceanis 50 from Norther Italy to BVI via Canaries. In total I have sailed some 100,000 miles over the years. Ideally I would like to do the ARC in 2020 if there's anyone who is looking for a good watchkeeper. We are planning to join the ARC 2021 with our own yacht which we bought recently , a Hanse 575 which is berthed in Greece currently.I am looking to gain experience for my own crossing. | |
