Hello. I'm Chris. I'm originally from New Orleans but am living in Malmö, Sweden with my partner. I would love to try to get home for Christmas across the Atlantic, but I am also willing to travel wherever for a while. I'm an environmental writer, boatbuilder (of two canoes), river rat, and swamp lover. I would love to get to know the oceans. I feel most at home living in community with people. I've undertaken a few long journeys that continue to fuel my love for meeting new people and seeing new places. I bicycled across the US, from Charleston, SC to Santa Cruz, CA in 2009 with a group of 32 people advocating for affordable housing. And from 2012-2016, I worked as a canoe guide on the Mississippi River and have paddled from Caruthersville, Missouri to the Head of Passes at the Gulf of Mexico. I'd love to get to know this life and learn about the ocean. Samples of my writing are here: www.apaperboat.com/chris and these are two of the boat building projects I've been a part of: www.apaperboat.com http://www.island63.com/dispatch/index.cfm?id=270
