Athletic, easygoing and friendly, learning and solution-oriented, have an appreciation of all kinds of personalities and situations. I live in Montreal, self employed and am flexible about location and length of trip. I love sailing adventures that have a purpose (ex deliveries, ARC, passages) although simply exploring various bays and islands can also be fun. Would love to jump on board with more experienced sailors who don't mind explaining things from time to time, I don't get offended by receiving corrections or suggestions. Ego is not a big part of what my life is about. Non smoker, (dont mind being around smokers), like to laugh and get into good discussions. Not a big drinker but an end of the day beer or glass of wine with dinner is sometimes very welcome. (I am open to dry boats as well, no problem.) Looking for learning opportunities with experienced skipper, preferably vessel of 40 ft and above. I am happy to work hard, take watches, cook meals, clean the galley, etc., not expecting a holiday. I am ok with coastal, offshore and ocean sailing, fine with overnights and night watches (pref not solo in active situations). At this point, not having sailed blue water since before the pandemic, I could use some updating (nav systems etc.). Would love to learn heavy weather tactics, more about reading weather charts and navigation. I can sew but have not (yet) repaired a sail. Masters swimmer, ok with swimming in big open waters or diving under the boat if needed. Can put together a good meal with pretty much whatever you have in the galley. | |
