Since December of 2011 my husband, David Tabor, and I have owned a 1989 Canadian Sailcraft CS 36 Merlin (CS 36M) named Dianthus which we have raced and cruised all over the Chesapeake Bay. We also raced our boat in the Bermuda 1-2. I was David’s double-handed partner from Bermuda back to Newport, RI in 2017. We routinely put over 1000 miles a year on the boat. We currently keep our boat locally at Fishing Bay Yacht Club in Deltaville, VA. Now primarily retired, I help my husband who has a 100 ton captains license, occasionally deliver boats anywhere between Boston, MA to Marathon Keys, FL. In 2018 David and I crewed for eight months in the Oyster World Rally sailing 11,600+ miles. We sailed with friends in New Zealand on 54' Oyster Reach for seven weeks than we crewed on 54’ Sea Avenue from New Zealand, Vanuatu, Australia, to Indonesia and last on 66’ Oyster Blue from Indonesia across the Indian Ocean to Capetown, South Africa. I am current in my International Safety at Sea Course with hands-on training (2022) and am PADI dive qualified. I have a lifetime Virginia Boating Safety Course License. I am proficient at provisioning and cooking at sea, as well as being on watch alone and am able to plot navigation routes. Professionally I worked in advertising in and around Washington, DC for 20 years and for 7 years was a chili pepper farmer. I am an exhibiting watercolor painter of boating and other water related subjects. I am a physically fit (5’7”/140lbs), drug free, omnivore that occasionally enjoy a glass of wine.
