My boating merits date back to early childhood, however took up sailing during early nineties which included both pleasure and racing in boats ranging from 27' to 74' in Norway as well as Scandinavia, Greece, North Sea and Caribbean. Ownership has included a 44' Bavaria and a 36' Colin Archer. Currently, we own some smaller boats. In total, I assume in excess of 5000 nm of sailing of which over 2000 nm offshore and ocean. I hold a D5L certificate (captain, pleasure craft up to 50 gross ton), RYA Yachtmaster Offshore certificate of competence and SRC (VHF) certificate. I am approaching 70, however fit and with no health issues. My professional background is mechanical engineering and have been employed in various positions with the Bergen based arm of Rolls-Royce and their perdecessors for some 39 years until retirement in 2020. During the last 15 years or so I have owned and operated a fish camp at our property to the west of Bergen, where we also live. I am married to Kirsti and we have 6 grandkids ageing 8 to 20 years.
