I'm an IT professional and electrical engineer. I did an Atlantic crossing (Canary Islands -> Barbados) in 2022 on a 47 ft monohull with 5 other crew. I've done a circumnavigation of Vancouver Island on a 48 ft sloop. I've crewed on a 44 ft catamaran. My wife and I also own a sailboat with two other households. We're now on our third boat. Our current boat is a Hunter 33' for which we do a fair amount of our own maintenance. When I'm out with my wife and dog, often I'm effectively sailing single-handed: if it's rough at all, all my wife does is hang on to the dog! I'm reasonably well-traveled and think I'm easy to get along with. I don't really get seasick and if it gets really rough meds easily get me to 100%. I can cook at sea and reasonably well. My preference is a safe, happy passage. Finally, I'm up to date on vaccinations and would expect the same of the rest of the crew. | |
