Hi, My name Ben and i would like your help to kick start my dreams of sailing passages all across the globe with crossing the Atlantic eventually being my main goal, After years of procrastinating and excuses i have decided that now is the time to start saying “why not” to my long held dreams, i love travelling and see sailing as a great way to see countries from a different perspective My sailing experience is limited admittedly, but having talked through with several friends who have captained/crewed on voyages around the world i feel although limited, my experience and willingness to learn will be sufficient to be a valued member of the crew. I have been a part of voyages around the Med taking in overnights/watch rotation along with my yacht master theory/day skipper/power boat courses. I lived aboard a Turkish Gulit on anchor in Mallorca for approx 6 weeks while helping upgrade the vessel to charter specification therefore i am quite happy living with others in close quarters, I am an easy going team player willing to learn! I plan retake my day skipper practical through out the summer and take a few passages where i can to brush up on the basics. I will also update my first aid course as it has expired from my STCW. I would be happy if necessary to meet in person/take part in a trial sail prior to the ARC. Please feel free to contact me or ask any questions, References from previous captains can be obtained. | |
