| Looking to fulfill my dream, crossing the Atlantic as part of a crew. Whilst my profile mentions "coastal sailing" this has mainly been out of sight of land. I have helped crew several delivery trips (Falmouth to Cork, Malaga to Oporto, Athens to Zante, s. France to Naples etc) so I am use to extended time at sea both day & night on watch systems. I have also been on several 'flotilla holidays' in and around the Greek Islands (Ionian). I have completed several RYA training courses (Competent crew, Day skipper theory & pratical, Coastal skipper theory, Diesel engine & VHF radio). I am also a PADI scuba diving instructor and by trade a. Plumber with several years of property maintenance behind me. I consider myself to be easy to get on with and respectful and tolerant of other people in a small confined space. I prefer to 'go with the flow' rather than 'make waves' (excuse the pun!) and I like to get stuck in and challenge myself when needed. I believe I would be an asset to a crewing team, capable of taking instruction as well as making decisions for myself to best advantage of the boat & fellow crew. I'm not overly into racing, more into passage making, discovering new places/landfalls but mainly enjoying the journey. If you would like to know more please contact me.
