I'm Ana and I'm looking for more experience in offshore sailing. I used to own a 7.5m yacht (Rivetto) in Croatia, Adriatic, but since I moved to the Pacific in 2011, I haven't sailed it much, so I sold it in 2017 (a very sad day). Now I'm back in Croatia, since 2020, due to covid, moved to the coast (Liznjan, Pula) and I bought another little sailboat, Hurley 20 (6m). She's currently being renovated so I still haven't sailed her. I'm looking forward to it though :-) I finished a basic sailing school in 2009 at the Adriatic Nautical Academy (ANA) and the Day Skipper course (RYA) this May 2022. I haven't done much offshore sailing, but I was lucky to spend 2 months on Infinity, a gorgeous 120-foot sailboat, doing research in Tonga (https://www.facebook.com/InfinityExpedition/). I've also done some racing in Australia and New Zealand, but I would definitely like to get more experience sailing the open ocean. In late 2019, we were at the startup of a scientific expedition Plastic Blues (https://www.plasticblues.org/), but the covid came and the rest is history. Plastic Blues is sleeping at the moment, waiting for better times. Maybe it's good to mention that I'm also a marine scientist (PhD) working with plastic pollution and waste management. I also love freediving and scuba diving. I'd love to meet other sailors. I'm a non-smoker, but I drink socially.
