My name is Amy, I'm 27 and have been sailing for about 10 years now. I gained my Yachtmaster offshore July 2016, Then my Cruising instructor October 2018. I am now a Commercially endorsed freelance yachting instructor for a living. The majority of my work is in sail training, Primarily on 20m x BT global challenge Yachts, along with a 72ft Custom built 1982 Bermudan ketch, I am the mate on both of these working up to skipping in near future, Our aim is to take young and disadvantage people often with additional needs out on the water to help them get away from daily life and aim to make a difference to there lives. To complete my work profile, I also teach adult courses, both RYA and independent run, some experience working on gaffers teaching RYA courses, classic yacht rebuilds, sail training and running for a private owner, inshore round cans racing, some maintenance on ocean racing yachts, classic and gaffers and yearly winter refits. I am confident working on bigger boats, working with bigger loads, on winches etc. Also confident power handing bigger boats and working with hank on sails. Up to date qualifications as followed: Commercially endorsed Yachtmaster, Commercially endorsed Cruising instructor, ENG1, First Aid ( I do also work in a hospital in Mental health, A&E, fracture and orthopaedics and I am completing a distance learning degree in medical based science meaning I have some additional medical knowledge and experience) Sea survival, Diesel engine maintenance, Powerboat L2, Safety boat, PADI open water & deep diver, Short range VHF, Food hygiene and DBS checked. I am now looking to expand my knowledge and further my career by completing some offshore/ ocean passages with the aim to gain my Ocean Yachtmaster. I consider myself to be hard working, polite, respectful to owners, crew and look after the boat as if it was my own ( I do also own my own yacht) Happy to do my share of Galley duties and keeping the boat clean and tidy, Very keen to learn. Would be looking for someone to is willing to give me the time to help gain knowledge and experience. I am looking for paid work but would consider completing a ocean passage on arc or similar as crew on the right boat with someone who is willing to let me be involved with planning and give the time to help me learn with wanting to complete my ocean qualifying passage, in this case travel/ expenses is to be covered to and from the boat. Thank you for reading, Please do email or call for any questions along with for availability.
