Hello prospective crew, My name is Alan and I originally come from Scotland but live in China, don’t worry the boat is in the South of France. I bought a 2008 Jeanneau 39ds at the end of 2017 and most of the items which were highlighted in the survey and many which were not have been dealt with. At the moment I’m putting a crew together to sail from the Mediterranean to New Zealand. The broad outline would be to spend some time cruising in the Mediterranean to test the boat, crew and skipper out. Then head for Cape Verde then across to the Caribbean spend about 3 months in the Caribbean then head for the Panama Canal onto the Marquesas, Tuamotu, Tahiti, Tonga, Fiji and finally New Zealand. I will be in the South of France from June with a view to completing the various jobs required to get the boat to world cruising standard. Departure from Lad Palmas would be the beginning of December and arrival in New Zealand at the beginning of November 2020. I left Gruissan on the 18October and did mainly solo from there to Gibraltar. Then joined crew from there to Las Palmas. Now looking for one crew member with Ocean experience. I’ve completed an 1100nm passage from Fiji to New Zealand as crew in 2012, Day Skipper theory and practical in October 2016 in the Caribbean about 200nm, VHF license and weekend sail in January 2018 60nm local day sailing between April and July 2018.. And ad you can see from above 700 nm coastal miles and 700 ocean miles since October 18th 2019. I’m 63 and in good shape and easy to get on with and am looking for crew who are willing to contribute to expenses which I estimate will be in the range of £25 per day. My interests include drawing and painting, travelling, sailing and cosmology. | |
