I have been sailing since 1984 to 2008 in UK waters. Spent 7 years offshore racing from Plymouth. Competed in the Armada Cup (450 miles) Plymouth to San Sebastian 3 times. My total sea miles amount to approximately 35,000 Nm. Have undertaken several RYA training courses including First Aid, Engine Maintenance, practical and theory, plus VHF Radio licence. Have strong sea-legs. Love cooking. Outgoing personality & a sence of humour. Despite living in France my French is poor!. I have owned 5 yachts, the last one being a Hanse 400 in which my companion & I sailed extensively in the Mediterranean for 5 years for 6 months at a time. In November 2019 I helped two American owners crew a 40 foot catamaran with a friend from Gibraltar to the British Virgin Isles via Lanzarote and the Cape Verdi Islands. Passage took 4 weeks. It was not a great experience so I’d like to do a Transat on a well-found boat with nice people | |
